Creative tip for paper scraps

After every project I work on I accumulate a good amount of paper scraps. I always try to save them and keep them in a zip lock bag because they're great to incorporate into new projects. The card below is made solely out of paper scraps. I cut many of them into smaller pieces, arranged them on the card (which is a piece of chartreuse card stock cut to size), and using a circular die cut punch created the round shapes.

Created pattern, texture, and visual appeal using a circular die cut punch, patterned paper and solid colored card stocks.

Stationary as a gift

I always think custom stationary makes a great gift since it's one of those little pleasures in life people won't typically treat themselves to. It's always nice to have special notecards in your desk to go to in a pinch.

Fall 2009 Wedding Invitations: In progress

Lots of great things are going on now including a couple of exciting projects. The invitations below are still in progress. They are for a Fall 2009 wedding.

in progress
occasion: wedding
Color scheme: Orange and Navy Blue
Thought Process: I chose to use a 3 panel pocket folder-which makes a nice, neat, and cohesive package. The pocket folder will sit perfectly inside of a navy blue envelope.

Bridal Shower Invitations: Beach Theme

Starfish are apparently the new trend! As is getting married down the Cape! Here's another set of bridal shower invitations I'm working on right now. I'm using a light burgundy/berry color since it's the color of the bridesmaids' dresses and they wanted to tie the shower into the upcoming wedding. Just sent the proof off, so we'll see how much they develop over the next few days!

(I placed a crystal on the center of the starfish to add a little more glitz to it)

Wedding Invitations

Just finished my first set of actual wedding invitations. Over the past couple years I've been busy with shower invitations and wedding programs, so I was thrilled to get this assignment to design invitations. The couple technically already got married a few months back, but they wanted to have a fun celebration with close family and friends from around the world to celebrate their beautiful marriage.

They're a hip and young couple who wanted to keep things casual but classy, and fun but simple for their event. Here's to setting the tone....

Bridal Shower Invitations: Beach/Cape Cod Theme

Here are some bridal shower invitations I recently designed for a close childhood friend! The shower was in Boston right on the water. The September wedding will be down the Cape so the bridal party wanted a "beachy" Cape Cod theme.

I used a simple starfish that I repeated throughout the invite... which ended up being the theme to the entire event!

The bride's mom even ordered a great cake, from a bakery down the Cape, with starfish on it!
